April 2005
As well as a lot of new songs, the new year has brought a change of line-up: Richard Murison has left, on very good terms, to focus on his music therapy work, and Tamora has taken over the role of bass-player, bringing her own particular quiet wild energy to the band...
Tundra intend to reconvene the octet (chamber) line up for the May gig, but in the meantime the trio of Tom, Tamora and Suzanne are exploring the pared down sound, which is bringing the feel rather than the gesture, the songwriting rather than the texture, to the forefront of the band's aesthetic.
Tundra will be playing as a trio intermittently in 2005 – see them at the Sanctuary in April with special guests Winterbourne. Stay tuned for details of the May gig, a quite different affair...
